Construction wizards.
Built by hand.

We are seasoned artisans across multiple disciplines. Whether it's stone pillars that glow all night, a yellow cedar deck overlooking the water, or a kitchen built to last generations — the standard never changes.

We work with homeowners who know the difference between ordinary construction and true craftsmanship. Every project is taken on personally. Every detail is considered.

Richard McCulloch

A craftsman's
standard.

Richard McCulloch has spent 40 years mastering the trades — stone, timber, concrete, finish carpentry. What sets him apart isn't just the skill; it's the eye for design that turns ordinary materials into something people admire for generations.

"Having inherited the artistic gene from both of my parents, I instinctively see changes — well in advance of constructing anything — that add to the overall appeal of a project. I gain immense satisfaction by crafting things that are different and stand alone among artisans."

Every project is taken on personally. Every detail is considered. That's the McCulloch standard.

Hand-drawn architectural plan by Henry McCulloch
In Honour

"I draft the old-fashioned way — on a drafting board, with a T-square."

Richard's father, Henry McCulloch, was an architectural engineer and home builder who sold his homes on the quality of his hand-drawn plans — Indian ink and pencil, drafted with precision and artistry at a time when every line was made by hand.

Richard learned to draft the same way. No AutoCAD. No digital shortcuts. The hand-drawn sketch is where every project begins — and it's a tradition carried forward with pride.

Haemish Beaton

A skilled hand
in every trade.

Haemish grew up in North Vancouver and after attending Capilano University he embarked on a multi-country voyage seeking the world's perfect wave as an avid surfer. While travelling he took an interest in the woodworking techniques of the artisans in each country he visited, which led him to building projects with a strong emphasis on Asian design.

He eventually settled in the Comox Valley to raise a family and launched Treeden Studios in 2015, focusing on outdoor living spaces, treehouses and furniture built from reclaimed wood. His love of architecture and passion for restoring historical buildings has led him to projects across Canada, constantly challenging the boundaries of design.

A true artisan, Haemish brings a world of experience and countless skillsets to every space — turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. He resides in Qualicum Beach.
